Thursday, Feb. 28 at 9pm

Joe's Pub at The Public

Wynton Marsalis (Pulitzer and Grammy-winning composer, musician, author, and Managing and Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center) and Suzan-Lori Parks (Topdog/Underdog, Porgy and Bess, Master Writer Chair of The Public Theater) will discuss music and American identity – the way that the songs we sing have been part of our nation and our character.

PLEASE NOTE
: The Public Forum Duet conversation with Wynton Marsalis and Suzan-Lori Parks will take place in Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette St.

*****
This month, the Public Forum continues its celebrated series of Duets: one-on-one conversations that pair an artist who has been vital to the history of the Public Theater with a leading voice from the world of politics, media, or the arts. Last fall, to mark the presidential election, the Forum Duets focused on politics, with Alec Baldwin, Rachel Maddow, Tony Kushner, and more. This spring, we turn to music, and the way that it shapes our lives.
