Kyle Riabko, star and creator of the hit West End show CLOSE TO YOU: BACHARACH REIMAGINED and the earlier acclaimed Off Broadway version WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT? BACHARACH REIMAGINED, brings his extraordinary Bacharach arrangements to Joe’s Pub for a solo concert and album launch of The Original London Cast Recording, now available on Ghostlight Records.
Accompanying himself on guitar, Riabko will perform his celebrated versions of such classics as “Alfie”, “I Say A Little Prayer”, “Walk On By”, “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head”, and many more.
The stage production was named “One of the Year’s 10 Best” by The New York Times and received nominations for Drama Desk Awards, Outer Critics Circle Awards, and Lucille Lortel Awards for which Riabko was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical. London’s Daily Telegraph wrote, “Kyle Riabko is Outrageously Talented,” with The New York Times writing, “Riabko searches out the emotional layers of the songs with impressive precision," and New York Magazine calling Riabko “a wonderfully appealing star.”
Burt Bacharach himself said of Riabko, “Kyle has done something truly unique with my music. He’s a beautiful singer and one hell of a guitar player.”
Riabko previously appeared on Broadway in both “Spring Awakening” and “Hair”, and in his teen years, recorded an album of original material for Sony/Aware and performed as an opening act for such artists as BB King, James Brown, John Mayer, Keb Mo, Jason Mraz, and Maroon 5, among others.
