Diana Oh presented in association with MTF

Joe's Pub

November 18

Doors at 6PM
Show at 7PM

An evening of thrilling songs, Diana and Matt perform their 24 Hour Punk set written at The National Black Theatre and commissioned by NYMF this past summer 2018. Jonathan McCrory, Artistic Director of the National Black Theatre,  joins to give an accompanying address. Diana will also debut brand new work for her solo concert CLAIRVOYANCE (ART Oberon, April 2019).

Diana Oh's 24 Hour Punk is exactly what it sounds like, Diana and Matt aka CUTE locked themselves in a space for 24 hours and wrote brand new music in a 24 hour period, so by the time the 24 hours was up, a brand new concert was performed for an audience. All the music and the songs were written within a 24 hour period. The opposite of overthinking and everything in being all in it together. The music was written and performed by Diana Oh (a Korean-American party animal) and Matt Park (a HAPA Korean-American dad) -- together, things get weird.

Diana Oh: Creator and Co-Songwriter of 24 Hour Punk (NYMF, 2018): (she/her or they/them) is a multi-hyphenate generative artist -- an actor, a singer, a songwriter, a creator, a media justice advocate in film, tv, and theatre. She is the creator of {my lingerie play}. A Refinery29 Top LGBTQ Influencer, the First Queer Korean-American interviewed on Korean Broadcast Radio, a TOW Fellow at Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre, a Van Lier Fellow in Acting with the Asian American Arts Alliance, a Venturous Capital Grant Recipient, Sundance Institute Fellow, Elphaba Thropp Fellow. She is the Resident Artist at A.R.T. creative directing CLAIRVOYANCE: her monthly installations centering QTPOC power and magic that culminates into her own solo concert she casts spells with (April 2019), Upcoming: The Infinite Love Party at Bushwick Starr in (Jan 2019). Say hi at (yes it rhymes).

Matt Park is a songwriter, guitarist, poet, and actor. He co-wrote music for Ma-Yi's production of Peer Gynt and the Norwegian HAPA Band at ART/NY in the winter of 2016. He is the guitarist in Diana Oh's My Lingerie Band and performed in My Lingerie Play at The Rattlestick Theater in the fall of 2017.  He played guitar and performed in Emily Gardner Hall's I Am This For You which was performed at Ars Nova in June of 2018. He is a guest contributor as a poet for HAPA Mag. He recently co-wrote the music for 24 Hour Punk with Diana Oh which was performed at The New York Musical Festival in July of 2018.

Diana and Matt are CUTE. They play music. If you want a sexy blurb, go on Netflix and read the details on the new shows that are trending. If you want hot sexy beats drizzled with delicious electric explosions topped with loop machines, synth mindfuckery, and other weirder outsider shit that even Brooklyn Beard Men are afraid to listen to, check out CUTE.
