For one night only, singer/composer Dorian Wood will perform Janet Jackson's 1989 masterpiece "Rhythm Nation 1814" in its entirety, arranged for voice and piano. Says Dorian: "I was 14 when this album came out. No other music at the time sounded like it. I knew every lyric and every dance move, and Janet's messages of social justice and reluctant sensuality helped shape my adolescence." The performance will include special guest duets with Scott Matthew and clarinetist Michael Winograd.
"A cutting edge sound that respectfully acknowledges the folk music of his birth, Dorian is an artist who does not stop...his life is the rhythm of his creative impetus." - GQ (Mexico)
"Artist and musician Dorian Wood makes mercurial pop that demands and deserves attention." - WNYC CULTURE
