BLACK LIVES MATTER

BLACK LIVES MATTER

George Floyd should be alive today. His family and loved ones should have him with them, but they don’t because he was murdered by police officer Derek Chauvin.

While the verdict holds Chauvin accountable for George Floyd’s murder with a conviction, it is not nearly enough. The system continues operating exactly as it was built to, never having been set up to support or protect Black people.

We’re reminded again and again how critical it is for us to show through our daily actions that we believe Black Lives Matter. In our communities, in all of our spaces, in our policies and practices, in our civic engagement, in how we advocate for equity and against anti-Blackness, in how we treat each other and take care of each other, Black Lives Matter.
