A new work by Martha Redbone, Aaron Whitby and Roberta Uno

Directed by Roberta Uno

Feb 11, 13 & 14

Joe's Pub

Doors at 6PM
Show at 7PM

In this concert, Martha Redbone will present songs from her New York Voices commission with Joe’s Pub. With an all-star band in tow, Redbone’s newest piece was created in collaboration with Aaron Whitby and Roberta Uno. In this new piece, blues and soul singer Martha Redbone explores her Appalachian mining family’s heritage and history in an epic that spans generations and a breadth of music genres. This breathtaking work-in-progress is not to be missed as a great American story that has remained untold until now.

Joe's Pub New York Voices series presents new works from critically-acclaimed performers commissioned by Joe's Pub and supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. With New York Voices, Joe's Pub provides greater support for artists, allowing them the space and time to create new work that not only connects them to their fans, but to their contemporaries.  Prior New York Voices commissions include Bridget Everett’s Rock Bottom and Ethan Lipton’s No Place to Go.
