Butzi’s Liederkreis Opus 50: A 50th Birthday Celebration feat. East Village Opera Company, Brooklyn Rundfunk Orkestrata & more

Joe's Pub

November 13

Doors at 6PM
Show at 7PM

Butzi (aka Peter Kiesewalter) is the GRAMMY-nominated mastermind behind East Village Opera Company (EVOC) and the Brooklyn Rundfunk Orkestrata’s (BRO) song for song adaptation of “The Sound Of Music,” an arranging tour de force of American music idioms and the very first project of its kind to receive the much publicized blessing and support of the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization. On top of his current Music Director duties with singers Jane Siberry and Jackie Evancho, he performs as half of the electro duo LuxRd (with singer David Driver) and produces remixes and Elektrospank tracks from his Wildboar Production Studios in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Backed by his longtime 3-piece rhythm section, this show will feature performances from EVOC (on stage for the first time in 6 years), BRO (from their “Hills Are Alive” and upcoming new album), and a lustrous list of guest singers and musicians from his 20 years in NYC.

“… a whiplash-worthy tour de force… one of the year’s most original and inventive albums of the year (BRO’s “The Hills Are Alive”)… a truly remarkable project”New York Daily News
