In Another Name In Nightlife local snowflake and recent Ethyl Eichelberger Award winner Dane Terry performs an evening of his songs and music. A composer/performer known as of late for making theater, Terry effortlessly blends disparate genres in his music. With his earthy warble and liquid piano playing backlit by a tactful troupe of musicians his songs create worlds at once both decadent and moonlike, with a Lynchian penchant for an everyday-weird throbbing under it all.
Terry just performed his show Bird In The House at The Public Theater as part of the INCOMING! Series at the 2016 Under The Radar Festival.
"Dane Terry is the millennial Cole Porter. He's got the hooks of Elton John, the jokes of Tom Waits and the heart of Leonard Cohen." - John Cameron Mitchell, Creator of Hedwig and the Angry Inch
"gifted with such a voice, a weird mix of Antony and Woody Guthrie, somehow both world-weary and bleary-eyed." - Shane Barnes, FLAVORWIRE
"this guy is fucking incredible, as a songwriter, a lyricist, and a multi-instrumentalist. He could be the next Elton John, the next Mark Eitzel, the next Randy Newman, and he has the potential to best all three." - Doug Mosurock, STILL SINGLE
