Pierce Turner Ensemble

Joe's Pub

July 21

Doors at 6PM
Show at 7PM

Award winning Irish musician Pierce Turner is not only considered one of Ireland’s greatest performers, he has won an award that says so! Also a favored son of Manhattan he returns to Joe’s Pub fresh off the back of an Irish Tour to promote his “Stunning” new album “Love Can’t Always Be Articulate” Upon his return he first performed as part of a star studded line-up at the Angela’s Ashes 20th Anniversary late June.  This show will feature a highly original Ensemble assembled to produce the sound of his new CD-Andriette Redman  and Kath Green from Avon Faire on Vocals, Percussion and Bass, John Rokosny on Guitar, Mark Brotter on drums and Fred Parcells (Black 47) on Trombone.

The Irish Times declared him “Easily one of the most important Irish rock artists of the last twenty years” He was on the cover of New York Magazine hailed as “New York’s undiscovered gem” His songs have been a host of movies - including  the acclaimed HBO Show “ The Wire” and the Academy award winning Director Jim Sheridan said that a Turner performance in New York inspired him to be fearless about making his classic “My Left Foot”  The list of positive reviews go on forever, but all that is important really is to know that this is a great performer with such great songs that Liam Fay of the Sunday Times, said “He has created what I confidently believe to be the finest body of work in contemporary Irish music, bar none”
