Crazy Love: When Mary McBride Met David Driver

Joe's Pub

February 27

Doors at 9PM
Show at 9:30PM

Mary McBride has circled the globe countless times, singing for people from every walk of life, while David Driver has zigzagged between downtown NYC grit and uptown flash. Soon, their disparate paths will intersect— in Russia. Prior to their month-long spring tour, in which they’ll reimagine American standards and pop classics accompanied by members of the Moscow Philharmonic, they’re offering a one-night-only preview of the new show that very few Americans will have a chance to witness. Their freewheeling songbook includes chestnuts by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Prince, David Bowie, Allen Toussaint and Hoagy Carmichael, as well as tunes famously interpreted by the likes of Irma Thomas, Ray Charles, Annie Lennox, and Frank Sinatra.
