Book & Lyrics by Rebekah Greer Melocik
Music by Jacob Yandura
Directed by Stephen Brackett
A staged reading of New York City Children's Theater's acclaimed family musical. Based on the Newbery Honor-winning book by Jerry Spinelli, Wringer tells the heartfelt and humorous story of Palmer, a 10-year-old boy who’s about to take part in his town’s annual pigeon shoot. When he secretly befriends a pigeon, taking him in as a pet, Palmer finally finds the strength to stand up to peer pressure and speak out against the town’s violent tradition.
Starring: Dan Rosales (Spamilton), Jenni Barber (Wicked, The Nance), Andrew Call (Grease Live!, American Idiot), Todd Buonopane (Cinderella, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Graham Rowat (Upcoming: Sunset Boulevard, Mamma Mia!), and Will Gallacher (The Woodsman)
Featuring Matt Gallagher (Music Direction, piano), Tom Monkell (guitar), Mike Epperhart (bass) and Joe Choroszewski (drums)
“'Wringer,' the musical adaptation by New York City Children’s Theater, is fun from beginning to end." - The New York Times
New York City Children's Theater is a nonprofit organization that creates original, entertaining, and enriching theater for young audiences and adults to enjoy together. We believe a city as culturally rich as New York needs a children’s theater that produces high-quality original productions and develops robust arts-in-education programs, serving children in all communities across the five boroughs.
