Health & Safety Policy Update

We are excited to welcome you back to The Delacorte Theater for our 60th Anniversary Season of Free Shakespeare in the Park. We ask that you read and understand the following when accessing tickets.

  • Effective April 19, 2022, The Public requires proof of a complete COVID-19 vaccination to enter The Delacorte and attend performances. This policy will continue until further notice.
  • Complete vaccination is fourteen days following a final dose of the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna, or Astra-Zeneca vaccine.
  • We will accept proof of vaccination via Excelsior Pass, the NYC Covid Safe Pass, a copy or photo of your CDC vaccination card, and/or a copy or photo of an official immunization record from outside the United States.
  • Face masks are encouraged, but not required while attending performances at The Delacorte.
  • Public Theater staff and artists are subject to a mandatory vaccination and booster policy.
  • All policies are subject to change at The Public’s sole discretion and without notice.
  • Those that do not abide by any health and safety protocols will be denied entry or removed from the facility.

  • A face mask is required for all attendees while watching a performance on Tuesday evening, Saturday afternoon, & Sunday afternoon performances.
  • A face mask is not required but strongly encouraged when attending performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday evenings.
  • All performances in Joe’s Pub do not require a face mask because food and drink are available throughout the show. A face mask is strongly encourage when not actively eating or drinking.

The future belongs to artists. WHERE DO WE GO NOW? presents an unbridled forum for a group of innovative and incisive artists, playwrights, organizational partners, and visionaries to gather and explore what comes next. Participants include Public Theater Resident Director/Associate Artistic Director Saheem Ali (Merry Wives; Romeo y Julieta; Shipwreck; Fires in the Mirror); celebrated playwright Suzan-Lori Parks (Topdog/Underdog; 365 Days/365 Plays; The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess; Father Comes Home From The Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3); White Noise); brilliant theater and film director/devisor/dramaturg Mei Ann Teo (Dim Sum Warriors; The Paper Dreams of Harry Chin; Building a Character); and innovative director/playwright/activist Stevie Walker-Webb (Ain't No Mo'; One in Two; Whipping Man). As we return to a reality where wide-scale live performance is once again possible, what do the artists — the drivers, doers, and dreamers of the form — want the world to look like? Join us to discuss theater's next act.
