Born to a Muslim father and a Christian mother against a backdrop of sectarian violence, Inua Ellams left Nigeria for England in 1996 aged 12, moved to Ireland for three years, before returning to London. An award-winning poet, performer, playwright, graphic artist, and designer, Inua returns to the theme of migration in his work, exploring his own life experiences and wider global and political questions. BORDERS & CROSSINGS is an opportunity to get to know Inua and hear some of his poetic and dramatic work on this theme, live and online from London.

Mylène Gomera
Mylène is an Eritrean London-based award winning actress, voice-over artist, and producer. She extensively works in theatre, film and television throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She is fluent in 5 languages.
Most recently, Mylène is seen starring alongside Dakota Fanning as Zema, an Ethiopian refugee in England in the 70s, in feature film Sweetness in the Belly, which had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Mylène can soon be seen in West End's critically acclaimed The Jungle directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin as Helene, an Eritrean woman leading the female voices in the camp, in St. Ann's Warehouse, New York.
She can next be seen in Borders & Crossings by Inua Ellams, which is being presented by Fuel in Jan 2021 as part of Under The Radar Festival, an annual theatre festival, produced by the Public Theater in NYC.
Sopè Dirisu
Ṣọpẹ́ is an award-winning actor working across theatre, television, and film. He trained extensively with the National Youth Theatre, and his credits for stage include One Night in Miami (Donmar Warehouse), the titular role in Coriolanus at the RSC, and The Brothers Size (Young Vic).
On screen, Ṣọpẹ́’s recent work includes the horror film His House (New Regency) for which he has received a nomination for Best Actor at the 2021 British Independent Film Awards as well as a nomination for Best Actor in a Horror Movie at the inaugural Critic’s Choice Super Awards, due to be announced on Sunday 10 January 2021. He is due to appear in the sci-fi thriller Tides (Beghaus Wöbke Filmproduktion), and drama film Mothering Day (Number 9 Films) in 2021. Ṣọpẹ́ can also be seen as Elliot Finch in the television crime series Gangs of London (Pulse Films).
