A devastating weapon that also keeps our soldiers out of harm’s way – the ultimate military dream. But the reality of drone warfare isn’t at all what we imagined. The evening will feature topical readings from Bill Irwin and others as well as a discussion featuring Andrew Cockburn (author of Kill Chain: The Rise of the High-Tech Assassins), Dr. Mary “Missy” Cummings (one of the Navy’s first female fighter pilots and a member of the Stimson Task Force on drones), and Julie Taymor (director of Grounded) about the validity and morality of a war being fought out of the public eye but that is, unquestionably, Our Drone War.
ALL TICKETS ARE FREEIt is the goal of The Public Forum to engage audiences and artists around the urgent topics of our time, and as every week seems to bring a new news story about a drone strike with collateral damage, drone delivery services, or drones spying both at home and abroad, we believe now is the time for this conversation.Admission is free, but tickets must be picked up at the Taub Box Office by 6:30pm. Unclaimed tickets will be released at that time.
