Seriously Entertaining is House of SpeakEasy's acclaimed series of literary cabarets where writers such as Roz Chast, John McWhorter, Sarah Ruhl, Salman Rushdie, and more take the stage to riff and ruminate informally, dinner-theater-style, on the evening’s theme.
The Wall Street Journal calls it “Think-y entertainment for New York’s book-loving crowd.” The New York Times says it’s “a literary mixtape [with] perfect flow and variety."
September's theme is Seriously Celebrating The New Yorker's 100th Anniversary: Fiction, and will be hosted by Deborah Treisman, fiction editor of The New Yorker.
October's theme is Mind the Gap, and will be hosted by Bill Buford, author and journalist.
November's theme is My Family and Other Tragedies, will feature writers Peter Godwin and Glory Edim, and will be hosted by Kevin Young, poetry editor of The New Yorker.
