Influenced by their lived experiences, revolutionary politics, and love for their Black, queer, and trans communities, "Playlist for the Liberated Soul: The Music of Artemis Montague" will highlight Montague’s Black-queer, and trans-led musicals, SHE SINGS ME HOME and HOW BABY AND ANCESTORS STARTED A REVOLUTION. The concert will also feature some of their music as an independent artist. Influential genres include from R&B, gospel, rock, blues, pop, and hip-hop. Backed up by wonderful collaborators, this show will have you contemplating community, love, mental health, friendship, politics, and how Black people started Musical Theatre as we know it today.
