Las Guaracheras are a powerful all-female Latin music sextet formed in 2017 in the city of Cali, Colombia. Their repertoire spans Afro-Caribbean rhythms like salsa as well as music from Colombia’s Pacific region. Las Guaracheras evoke joy, passion, celebration, sisterhood, strength, and the pure pleasure of music—qualities that define the sextet. Inspired by the legacy of the great “Guarachera” Celia Cruz, Las Guaracheras take their name in homage to her, continuing to uplift and contribute to the rich heritage of Afro music and its roots, while keeping alive the most influential rhythms of the genre.
