The much-awaited launch of their HUMANITY deluxe double vinyl marks both a milestone and a return home for the Villalobos Brothers, a trio of violin-wielding singer-songwriters and artivists whose work has consistently moved between concert stage and cultural intervention. GRAMMY Award–winning and recognized internationally as one of the foremost contemporary Mexican ensembles, the Villalobos Brothers are also recent globalFEST picks. Rooted in the musical traditions of Veracruz, Son Jarocho, Son Huasteco, and Latin Jazz, the brothers combine those foundations with classical training and improvisational fluency. That synthesis has carried them to stages across the United States, Mexico, India, Russia, and Canada, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Montreal Jazz Festival, and back to Joe’s Pub, where this appearance marks their third show. Come party with the brothers, as you may have in their early days at backyard gatherings on Marble Hill Avenue! This will be a celebration of love, music, and brotherhood.
El lanzamiento de la edición limitada del doble vinilo HUMANIDAD marca un momento importante y un regreso a casa para los Hermanos Villalobos, un trío de violinistas, cantautores y artivistas cuya obra transita con naturalidad entre el escenario del concierto y la intervención cultural. Ganadores del GRAMMY y reconocidos internacionalmente como uno de los ensambles contemporáneos mexicanos más destacados, los Villalobos Brothers han sido además seleccionados por globalFEST. Enraizados en las tradiciones musicales de su estado natal Veracruz (Son Jarocho, Son Huasteco) los hermanos combinan estos estilos con una sólida formación clásica y una profunda libertad improvisatoria. Esa síntesis los ha llevado a escenarios en Estados Unidos, México, India, Rusia y Canadá, incluyendo Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center y el Montreal Jazz Festival, y de regreso a Joe’s Pub, donde esta presentación marcará su tercer concierto.
