Following his Joe’s Pub debut with Sherry at a Funeral, hailed by Broadway World as “a ridiculously satisfying night of entertainment,” haute cabaret raconteur Zachary Clause returns for his second appearance with I Really Do Want to Start a Garden One Day—his most personal show yet.
Through comedy, confession, and the music of the B-52s, Låpsley, Annie Lennox, Miley Cyrus, and more, Clause explores sexuality, fantasy, self-worth, and survival, asking what it takes to cultivate a life—not the one we’re taught to want, but the one we’re willing to tend. Equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking, the evening unfolds in his signature style: a campy, cathartic journey through wigs, therapy, infomercials, kink festivals, and the dream of growing a life that, though unruly, is life-giving and deeply shared.
