Health & Safety Policy Update

We are excited to welcome you back to The Delacorte Theater for our 60th Anniversary Season of Free Shakespeare in the Park. We ask that you read and understand the following when accessing tickets.

  • Effective April 19, 2022, The Public requires proof of a complete COVID-19 vaccination to enter The Delacorte and attend performances. This policy will continue until further notice.
  • Complete vaccination is fourteen days following a final dose of the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna, or Astra-Zeneca vaccine.
  • We will accept proof of vaccination via Excelsior Pass, the NYC Covid Safe Pass, a copy or photo of your CDC vaccination card, and/or a copy or photo of an official immunization record from outside the United States.
  • Face masks are encouraged, but not required while attending performances at The Delacorte.
  • Public Theater staff and artists are subject to a mandatory vaccination and booster policy.
  • All policies are subject to change at The Public’s sole discretion and without notice.
  • Those that do not abide by any health and safety protocols will be denied entry or removed from the facility.

  • All performances in Joe’s Pub do not require a face mask because food and drink are available throughout the show. A face mask is strongly encourage when not actively eating or drinking.

Joe McGinty & The Loser’s Lounge are proud to kick off a brand new season, presenting a tribute to the unstoppable music of the mighty Stax Records! The premier Southern Soul label from Memphis, TN. Stax is the home of legendary artists including Otis Redding, Booker T. & the MGs, Isaac Hayes, Sam & Dave, Carla Thomas, Mavis Staples, The Staples Singers, The Sweet Inspirations, Albert King, Rufus Thomas, Johnnie Tylor, Linda Lyndell, and many more classic soul icons. The Joe McGinty Seven and their eclectic cast of singers will perform songs from the Stax catalog that may (or may not) include: Green Onions, Soul Man, Knock on Wood, Sitting on the Dock of The Bay, Hold On I’m Coming, The Theme From Shaft, Who’s Making Love, Respect Yourself, Mr. Big Stuff, Walk On By, Hard To Handle, Try a Little Tenderness, Soul Finger, Born Under A Bad Sign, Big Bird, What A Man, B-A-B-Y, Walking the Dog, and too many more timeless songs to list here.
