While Joe's Pub is temporarily closed to public access, join us for Joe's Pub Live! – a free series of live-streamed and archived performances from our iconic stage in New York City. Facilitating social connectivity during this time of physical distancing, Joe's Pub remains dedicated to supporting performing artists at every stage of their careers through sharing concerts with our audiences each week.
To celebrate Make Music New York for the eleventh consecutive season, Joe's Pub puts together a compilation of some of their favorite past MMNY performers including Treya Lam, Migguel Anggelo, Kiah Victoria, Martha Redbone, AJOYO, and Gary Lucas, Feifei Yang & Jason Candler (with special guest Yao Wang).
Closures and cancellations because of COVID-19 have majorly disrupted access to revenue for artists all over the world. If you are enjoying this performance and are able to support, please consider supporting the artists directly:

Kiah Victoria has traveled the globe gracing audiences with her deeply soulful sounds and life giving vocal performance. Her music and timeless lyricism speak to the spirit, body and mind. Last January the young songbird had just released a 7-track EP entitled ‘Memo’ now available on all music platforms and made her return to the Joe’s Pub stage for an intimate evening of togetherness and storytelling.
Dreamy 30's Shanghai Pop-Jazz inspired by Gary Lucas’ celebrated album The Edge of Heaven, which rose to #1 on the World Music Charts. An intriguing fusion of Eastern and Western musical styles mingles with new Mandarin versions of classics by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Jeff Buckley. Grammy-nominated guitar legend Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley) has been called “one of the best and most original guitarists in America” by Rolling Stone.
Vocalist and erhu virtuoso Feifei Yang is a dual 2017 Global Music Award winner and was recently praised by Indie Nation as “an extremely talented pop star in the making." Multi-instrumentalist Jason Candler has worked closely with Gary Lucas for years and is also music director of the Hungry March Band. This formidable trio will perform alongside amazing images of Old Shanghai, “the Paris of the East”, courtesy lighting designer Kris Anton. Their new album is coming soon on Knitting Factory Records.
Treya Lam is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose cinematic songs and compositions are built on dynamic classically trained piano, ethereal vocals, meditative guitar, and lush chamber-folk arrangements. Their debut album Good News was created entirely by womxn - headed by Kaki King who produced and released the record on her label June 2018. Good News debuted to a sold-out show at Joe’s Pub and was supported by a nationwide tour shortly after. Lam is an active member of the Resistance Revival Chorus and one of the five artists selected for the 2019 Joe’s Pub Working Group.
In celebration of National Coming Out Day and National Hispanic Heritage Month, Migguel Anggelo is back at Joe’s Pub shattering the boundaries of gender in a striptease of "Latin Lover” clichés. In an outrageously queer concert experience, Migguel moves through iconic pop hits, original compositions, and the Spanish boleros of his youth, reminding us that our greatest love is right there in the mirror.
With musical direction by Jaime Lozano and a new book by J. Julian

In a time when the world is filled with hatred, fear, and division, Martha Redbone wants to remind ourselves of love, respect, peace and positivity and healing. Martha's concert is a night of song celebrating love – self-love, fun love, funky love, love of humankind, love of the land, honoring the earth, ancestors and our children’s children. Lots to celebrate, congregate and sing with us!
Aaron Whitby - keys, MD
Fred Cash - bass
Marvin Sewell - guitar
Rocky Bryant - drums
Keith Anthony Fluitt - vocals and more
Joe’s Pub Working Group member Yacine Boulares presents AJOYO's sophomore album EP release party. Hailed as "one of the most interesting new bands in the New York Afro-rooted world music scene” by Word Music Central, AJOYO is a mystic brew blending Jazz, African traditions and Soul. AJOYO features the voice of Sarah Elizabeth Charles and celebrates life, love, and justice through music: music for the heart, the mind and the body, the kind that is both soulful, sophisticated and makes crowds dance.
