RuckUS
Astor Place Cube Plaza September 26, 2020
Joe's Pub hosts a voter registration/information and census pop-up from 12noon-4pm!

RuckUS is a joyous and creative call for voter registration, voter planning, and vote(r) protection. Created and produced by leading members of New York City's artistic community, RuckUS celebrates our right to vote by organizing outdoor activations in the crucial weeks before Election Day, November 3.

While getting out the vote is serious, this is also going to be a lot of fun: pop-up events will raise a RuckUS in all five New York boroughs with a wide range of colorful and inspiring performers and speakers representing the worlds of art, music, and social action.

RuckUS was born from conversations among "the Breakfast Club": revered musicians Laurie Anderson, Arto Lindsay, and Ryuichi Sakamoto, along with noted branding consultant Iain Newton. Inspired to find a way for artists to engage with voter advocacy, they invited legendary rock/jazz bassist Melvin Gibbs and Bill T. Jones, noted choreographer and director, as well as cultural curators from Joe's Pub, The Blacksmiths, Town Hall, and HONK NYC to help coordinate this extraordinary multi-borough pro-voting extravaganza.

ASL interpreters will be on hand.

Masks and social distancing will be required to ensure everyone's safety.
