Tatiana Eva-Marie is a Brooklyn-based singer, bandleader and actress who was recently named rising jazz star by Vanity Fair. Acclaimed by the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Downbeat, and other renowned publications, she performs regularly in New York and around the world (New Orleans Jazz Festival, Jazz Aspen SnowMass, SummerStage NY, Midsummer Night Swing, the NYC Winter JazzFest, Jazz at Lincoln Center). Inspired by her French and Romanian heritage, she explores her love for jazz through the lens of 1930s Paris and the origins of Gypsy Jazz.
Tatiana Eva-Marie has recently been collaborating with Parisian guitarist Duved Dunayevsky, writing original music and touring internationally and has decided to invite him to the other side of the ocean for a series of American concerts. After discovering Django Reinhardt’s music, Duved dedicated himself completely to it. Along the way he has garnered a reputation for his remarkable ability to channel “that sound” loved by Django fans and sought by students of the style.
Tatiana, along with her Avalon Jazz Band and special guest, will invite you into a musical journey from New York to 1930s Paris with songs old and new, both in French and English, with accents of New Orleans jazz, French chanson réaliste, and Gypsy influences, celebrating the legacy of Django Reinhardt.
