Reverend Billy & The Stop Shopping Choir: Celebrating 20 Years of Radical Performance in New York City
Reverend Billy & The Stop Shopping Choir are a radical performance community based in New York City. They are practitioners of community based resistance and pioneers of performance art in public space. The Stop Shopping Choir is a 30-voice choir from all over the world, singing mostly original music. Their show spins through cycles of political action, spiritual revival, and performance spectacle and treads a very fine line between community and excellence, rooted in the lived realities of the group. They travel internationally, have performed in venues throughout the world and are recipients of an Obie Award, The Alpert Award, and the Edwin Booth Award. Directed by Savitri D.
