Carol Lipnik: Blue Forest
Carol Lipnik, the spellbinding, darkly-humorous singer and songwriter called an "ethereal vocal phenomenon" by The New York Times and hailed by The Village Voice as an “alt-cabaret star whose phenomenal four-octave range conveys everything from dark and delusional Alice in Wonderland mushroom fantasies to face-in-the-sidewalk security-state concerns,” returns to Joe's Pub with Blue Forest, the second of two album release shows.
Blue Forest, which will be performed in its entirety, features original songs that combine Lipnik’s uncanny ability to channel the magic and mystery of the natural world with her stunning vocals to pierce through the chaos and anxiety of today and invoke a more hopeful future.
With Michael Visceglia (bass and music director), Mark Bonder (keyboards), and Matt Beck (guitars).
Carol will also perform some selections from her other newly released album Goddess of Imperfection which feature collaborations with Obie Award-winning playwright/performance artist David Cale and Mexican composer Tareke Ortiz.
