Kendall Thomas: A Queer Jazz Songbook

Kendall Thomas: A Queer Jazz Songbook

February 23, 2022

Vocalist Kendall Thomas returns to Joe's Pub in a show that casts a queer eye on the American Songbook. Thomas' celebration of the queered jazz and blues canon will include music by Burt Bachrach & Hal David, Noel Coward, the Gershwins, Helen Humes, Frank Loesser, Cole Porter, and Nina Simone & Andy Stroud.

Kendall Thomas has sung and played keyboards since he was six.  His musical references include the African-American gospel, blues and folk music he learned as a child, alongside classical, pop-rock, R&B, cabaret, Broadway, and, most recently, jazz. Thomas has taught at Columbia University since 1983, where he is the Nash Professor of Law.
