Scream Along with Billy: Weill We Sleep

Scream Along with Billy: Weill We Sleep

April 16, 2022

Billy Hough & Susan Goldberg have brought numerous epic and unique shows to Joe’s Pub for Easter. From staging Altman’s “Nashville” with a cast of 20, to deep dives into David Lynch, John Waters, David Bowie, and once recreating the entire finale of “All That Jazz,” their current show is an update of the German cabarets of the Weimar era. Drawing inspiration from Fosse, Genet and Orwell, & featuring songs from Kurt Weill and Brecht, Brian Eno, and “Cabaret” itself, “Weill We Sleep” promises to be Scream Along’s biggest and most controversial show yet.

With garageDogs, Michael Cunningham, Lili Taylor, Christopher Wilcox. Videos by Melissa Kinski.

“The bravest thing I’ve seen in 20 years.” - John Waters

“…Keeps the audience mesmerized. Absurdist theatre can happen anywhere, especially if it’s kept alive by artists like
Hough...” - Hilton Als, The New Yorker
