Shunzo Ohno is recognized as one of the most influential trumpeters and composers in jazz. His recordings are known for their tender and fearless optimism. Ohno’s performances and recordings with Gil Evans, Wayne Shorter, and Herbie Hancock have influenced his current works, with trail-blazing tones honoring Japanese traditional music. His award-winning albums and compositions received acclaimed global recognition, in addition to two Grammy Award-winning albums, ISC Grand Prize, John Lennon SWC, and much more.
His life story of resilience and riveting live performances are compelling and energizing.
