What's On
7pm inti figgis-vizueta
A playful program showcasing the versatility of the string quartet featuring original music by The Rhythm Method, new arrangements of tunes by Fleeting Femme (ella joklik), and a premiere by composer inti figgis-vizueta. Expect catchy tunes and lots of drones.
9:30pm Paula Matthusen
This program draws its original inspiration and prompts from Postcard Theatre by Alison Knowles and Pauline Oliveros, which was both playful and critical in its evocation of genders, sexualities, and musics and also powerful in its discrete form and possibilities for building correspondences, alliances, and random encounters. Three artists presented as part of this evening – Anthony Sertel Dean, Dani Dobkin, and Natalie Greffel each examine the ideas of the postcard as a starting point, and run with it in different directions, creating individual short sets that act as sonic postcards. Seth Cluett and Paula Matthusen provide interstitial improvisations between these sets, and their respects to Knowles, Oliveros, and their expansions of sounds and forms.
