The return of Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley) and his longtime psychedelic jazz-rock group GODS AND MONSTERS, reinvented here as a power trio jam band feat. guitarist extraordinaire and Grammy-nominated songwriter and composer Lucas ("one of the best and most original guitarists in America--a modern guitar miracle"- Rolling Stone); the volcanic G Calvin Weston on drums (Ornette Coleman's Prime Time, James Blood Ulmer, John Lurie's Lounge Lizards); and rock solid bass legend Ernie Brooks (The Modern Lovers, Arthur Russell). Their music covers the waterfront: twisted originals from Gary's 60 acclaimed albums, plus music by Alice Coltrane, Miles Davis, Sun Ra, and Syd Barrett. The group has been called "A 21st Century Cream"--and their range and power truly extraordinary.
