Peter Salett: “Suite for the Summer Rain / Dance of the Yellow Leaf” Record Release
Peter Salett's Suite for the Summer Rain / Dance of the Yellow Leaf are two unique long form meditative song cycles performed by Peter Salett on acoustic guitar and vocals along with a string quartet, bass, drums, vibraphone and french horn. The pieces also feature ocean and wind sounds and the natural sounds of the cityscape. Musicians appearing with Peter will include bassist Jeff Hill (Rufus Wainwright), drummer Bill Dobrow (Black Crowes), percussionist Konrad Meissner (Brandi Carlile), violinist and arranger Chris Carmichael (Taylor Swift), violinist Maxim Mostin (Anohni), violist Katie Kresek (Norah Jones), cellist Chris Hoffman (Mark Ribot), and french horn player Rob Jost (Bjork).
For this double album record release show the musicians will be accompanied by the live projected drawings of a special guest, the incredible illustrator Michael Arthur.
Salett has been described as a "winsome pop poet" (The New York Times) and a "downtown legend" (TimeOut NY).
