Health & Safety Policy Update

We are excited to welcome you back to The Delacorte Theater for our 60th Anniversary Season of Free Shakespeare in the Park. We ask that you read and understand the following when accessing tickets.

  • Effective April 19, 2022, The Public requires proof of a complete COVID-19 vaccination to enter The Delacorte and attend performances. This policy will continue until further notice.
  • Complete vaccination is fourteen days following a final dose of the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna, or Astra-Zeneca vaccine.
  • We will accept proof of vaccination via Excelsior Pass, the NYC Covid Safe Pass, a copy or photo of your CDC vaccination card, and/or a copy or photo of an official immunization record from outside the United States.
  • Face masks are encouraged, but not required while attending performances at The Delacorte.
  • Public Theater staff and artists are subject to a mandatory vaccination and booster policy.
  • All policies are subject to change at The Public’s sole discretion and without notice.
  • Those that do not abide by any health and safety protocols will be denied entry or removed from the facility.

  • A face mask is required for all attendees while watching a performance on Tuesday evening, Saturday afternoon, & Sunday afternoon performances.
  • A face mask is not required but strongly encouraged when attending performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday evenings.
  • All performances in Joe’s Pub do not require a face mask because food and drink are available throughout the show. A face mask is strongly encourage when not actively eating or drinking.

TodayTix Digital Lottery

We're so excited to present Public Works' free musical adaptation of HERCULES at The Delacorte Theater this week. 

For the additional performance on Wednesday, September 4 at 8pm, a limited number of tickets will be disitributed via our digital lottery partner, TodayTix.

How it works:

Starting on Wednesday, September 4 at 12midnight, the Digital Lottery entry process will begin for all seven performances through our partner, TodayTix. Entries will be accepted until 12noon. Each winner will get two (2) tickets that evening's performance. There will be separate ADA Accessible and Senior Accessible Advance Digital Lotteries that will follow the same guidelines.

Follow the steps below to enter the digital lottery:

Step 1: Before the lottery opens, please download the TodayTix app, in the App Store or Google Play Store, or visit TodayTix.com and create an account. If you already have an account, please make sure your name matches the name on your ID and your email address on the account is correct, as well as confirm that TodayTix push notifications are turned on.

Step 2: When the entry period starts on Wednesday, September 4 at 12midnight, visit TodayTix.com or scroll down in the TodayTix app to Public Works' HERCULES for access to our General, ADA Accessible, and Senior Acessible Digital Lotteries.

Step 3: After the lottery closes at 12noon, winners will be randomly selected and notified via push notification on the TodayTix app and/or via email between 12pm and 4pm. You will have one (1) hour to claim your tickets after receiving notification. If you were not selected for any performance, you will also receive a notification.

If you won, you must be present to claim your tickets with a valid form of identification between 5:00pm and 7:30pm at The Delacorte Theater Box Office. Seat locations are assigned randomly, not based on when the tickets are picked up at The Delacorte Box Office. After 7:30pm, all unclaimed tickets will be given to the standby lottery.
