Award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rachael Sage returns to Joe's Pub with her full band The Sequins, in celebration of her brand new full-length album, Character. A song cycle written as Sage was recovering from cancer, it is a musical testament to the miracle and mystery of the human experience. Balancing the poetic lyricism for which she is best known with a newfound reverence for music as a healing tool, Sage is in the midst of a creative renaissance. Merging her experience of survivorship with both music and activism, Sage is continuing to raise awareness and funds for Women's Cancer Research, via her Top 40-charting charity single "Bravery's On Fire." Having played thousands of shows around the globe and shared stages with artists as diverse as Judy Collins, Eric Burdon, Howard Jones, and Ani DiFranco, the former ballerina says she has "come to realize that music is the most powerful healing tool I have ever encountered."
Fresh from a US Tour with '80' hitmaker Howard Jones as well as a UK Tour in support of her new record, Rachael will be joined by her longtime band The Sequins for this special performance, featuring Kelly Halloran (violin), Ward Williams (cello) and Andy Mac (drums), along with surprise guests!
