Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-Advised Funds.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite causes. Consider recommending a grant to The Public through your DAF sponsor today to help us move forward, and build a brighter future, together.

If your DAF is with Fidelity, Schwab, or BNY Mellon, you can recommend a gift to The Public using the DAF Direct form below. Simply enter the amount and designation, and click “Next” to be taken to your DAF portal login page.

Per guidelines provided by the IRS and DAF sponsors, gifts from DAFs cannot be used as payment — either partially or wholly — for dues toward any membership that extends prohibited goods and/or benefits to a donor. However, if all prohibited goods and benefits of a membership are fully waived by the donor, payment via a DAF is acceptable.

If you would like to make a gift to The Public through another DAF sponsor, please make checks payable to “The Public Theater” and mail to the following address:

Attn: Development
The Public Theater
425 Lafayette Street
New York, NY 10003

Please note that our legal name is the “New York Shakespeare Festival,” and we are d/b/a The Public Theater. DAF directories will usually list us using our legal name. Our tax identification number (EIN) is 13-1844852.

Feel free to contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
