What's On
Seriously Entertaining is House of SpeakEasy's acclaimed series of literary cabarets where authors take the stage to riff and ruminate informally, dinner-theater-style, on the evening’s theme. The Wall Street Journal calls it “Think-y entertainment for New York’s book-loving crowd,” and The New York Times says it’s “a literary mixtape [with] perfect flow and variety.”
Since the debut show in 2014, Seriously Entertaining has proudly featured a diverse range of authors and performers, from Pulitzer Prize–winning journalists, bestselling novelists, poets, comedians, musicians, and emerging writers such as Eve Ensler, Margo Jefferson, Charles Yu, Rachel Feinstein, Kevin Young, Loudon Wainwright III, Mary HK Choi, and Barry Levinson.
Whether you're a series regular or a first-time ticket holder, you should expect the unexpected from their personal and affecting stories, which will make you laugh or cry—or sometimes both—on any given night.
