Prepare to be transported to a world of radical love, timeless melodies, and healing with Ani Cordero's debut concert for her anticipated bilingual concept album, Anamores. The Puerto Rican singer and instrumentalist is known for her danceable protest and love songs. The New Yorker notes, “Cordero has a knack for writing gritty songs of resistance that feel as though they could belong to past decades.” Ani’s 2019 single, “Pan Pan,” foretold the "Ricky Renuncia" movement where Puerto Ricans forced out their governor, and was played in the Democracy Now news coverage of the massive protests. NPR's All Things Considered, Alt-Latino, Billboard, USA Today, PRI The World, The NY Times, Brooklyn Vegan, BUST, and Remezcla have all praised Cordero for her unique sound and powerful lyrics.
Joining Cordero for this special performance are Luis D'Elias on guitar and bass, Davíd Cornejo on drums, Jill Peacock on vocals and keyboards, Mobéy Lola Irizarry on congas and vocals, plus special guests Renee Goust and Chiquita Brujita.
