We continue to stay informed and are closely monitoring the events surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19. The health and safety of our staff, artists, and audiences remains of utmost importance.
At the present time, all shows and events at The Public are performing as scheduled, but we remain vigilant and will be in contact with ticket holders if changes are being made in response to evolving conditions.
With or without a virus threat, The Public’s daily sanitation procedures, especially in Joe’s Pub and The Library, are high, but we have increased frequency of disinfecting commonly touched areas in all of our spaces. We are asking anyone attending any event at The Public to follow the recommended preventative practices. Use the hand sanitizing stations in the lobby, wash hands regularly with soap and water, cough or sneeze into a tissue or elbow sleeve, and most importantly stay home if feeling ill.
If anyone is feeling sick or experiencing mild to severe respiratory illness including fever, cough, and shortness of breath, please stay home and reach out to us (212.967.7555 or email@example.com) to reschedule your tickets if possible.
The City is also advising those with chronic lung disease, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or a weakened immune system to avoid unnecessary events and gatherings.
When traveling to and from the theater allow extra time and wait for a less crowded train or bus or consider an alternative such as walking or biking.
We understand that many New Yorkers are feeling anxious right now, but discrimination and stigmatization of any kind is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated at The Public and in New York City. Be mindful of your neighbors and your fellow New Yorkers. We must not allow fear to triumph over our values.
