Joe's Pub Digital Duets Open Call

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many artists are feeling out of their element in their creative practices. Joe’s Pub is supporting joyful, collaborative work by offering micro-commissions to 8 duos of artists/performers who have never worked together before. Artists are encouraged to tap any side of their creativity that is bringing them joy during this time, whether that is working in their normal medium or experimenting with something outside of their genre.

If your application is accepted, Joe’s Pub will pair you with a collaborative partner who will be chosen from within Joe's Pub's existing artist community.  We are excited about this opportunity to work with new artists and expand our creative ecosystem.

The work is not meant to be stressful, time-intensive, or result in a masterpiece, but we do hope we are able to able to share some of the final pieces virtually, create ongoing artistic partnerships, and have ideas for future on-stage programming. Collaborators are expected to safely meet remotely by video/phone call.

Each chosen pair will receive $1,000 ($500 per individual). Applications close April 30, 2021 at 11:59PM ET. We will notify you if you have been chosen (with the artist you have been matched with) or not by May 7, 2021. The final work is due by June 11, 2021 and they will be shared virtually by Joe's Pub over the course of the summer.
